Kristina Starnes, MS, CCC-SLP
Originally from Ozark, Arkansas, Kristina received her B.S. degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Arkansas in 2000. She then received her M.S. degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2002 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. During graduate school Kristina completed an assistantship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she became interested pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders while working in the Infant-Toddler Unit.
Following graduate school Kristina followed up with her interest in feeding disorders and worked at a pediatric dysphagia clinic in Raleigh for over 2 years. She has extensive experience in evaluating and treating various pediatric oral motor and feeding delays and disorders. Kristina also evaluates and treats children with varying degrees of speech and language delays and values an interdisciplinary team approach consisting of pediatricians, allergists, gastrointestinal specialists, nutritionists and other therapy disciplines. Kristina opened Therapy Tree, LLC in July of 2013.
Helene Carter, MS, CCC-SLP
Helene is a graduate of Tulane University and received her M.S. in communication disorders at Boston University’s Sargent College. She is a state and ASHA certified speech language pathologist of 15 years, with a background in psychology and early childhood education.
Special interests included early childhood years 3-5, focusing on receptive and expressive language delay, phonemic awareness skills, and articulation/phonology disorders. Have experience with the autistic population, ranging from mild to more severe along with stuttering, and a wide rang of language disorders including dyspraxia and auditory processing disorders.
